Today, I got the ArmA Gold Edition.

First thing I learned:
Never trust Amazon :P
They offered me a bundle "Gold edition + Queen's Gambit"
Guess what? Queens Gambit is part of the Gold Edition *LOL*
Always good to look twice ...
So, I downloaded and installed the latest patch (guess ARMAUpdate_1_14.zip should be the last one) and I was ready to start exploring..
Momentary, I walk through the tutorials.
Guess that is the difference between a n00b and a newb

Now I am done with weapon training and vehicles. Whow - that AH-1Z is great. TAB through the targets and (hell)fire
Hm .. somehow, I didn't figure out, how I could gunner in a STRYKER.
I took seat at the gunners place but all I have seen was a kind of mini-TV ...
But the rest is fun and the graphics are great.

When you hop in, the learning curve is a bit steem, but when you get used to the command buttons, action-menu and inventory system, things work great.

Can't wait for my first SP mission. But now it is late and I have to sleep now ...

Glad you liked the AH-1Z. Flying that chopper at speed and low altitude is challenging. I did change my binds so that my mouse was not an alternate control for aircraft. Having a good set of rudder pedels, throttles, and joystick the mouse has better uses.

As you alluded to - you need to take different stations on most armor - driver, gunner, sometimes commander. Drivers just operate the vehicle, which is quite a handful during combat and you're trying to find good spots for going hull-down. Gunners just shoot, which is handful at times as well. Commanders guide the other two, which can be much more than a handful. :P

I'll dig into the Stryker gunner station issue for you, Pete. Thinking you need to switch to alternate optics to get a target view, but will double check.

To aim the weapons in the Stryker you need to switch to the alternate view .

In the ICV version you cannot be turned-out. Being so positions the MG to the forward and locked position.

Driving the vehicle is via the TV view. It's active.

The missiles do move fast, which can mess you up if too used to the slow missles in other games. A good way to get used to them is the Armory, where you can practice with the TOW launch platform.

Wilco - practice is the key in this game :P

But first, I have to fix some more website stuff ...
Not much time for ArmA, but I will try on weekend ...
